The pop-up window adds are AWEFUL. I have been recommending that friends come to SWP and join. However nearly all of them have said they would never return to the site again after seeing the intrusive window take-over ads from the front page.

Was this added just to keep membership from climbing any higher?

I would rather see text google adds on every page, even registered users.
